Flat Tire Repair

A nail in the tread is usually repairable. A cut in the sidewall or the shoulder is not, and we will tell you which one you have rather than selling you a tire you don't need.

What the job involves

  • Take the wheel off and find the leak properly, in a water bath — not by guessing at the hiss.
  • Where the damage is in the repairable area, dismount the tire and fit a combination patch-plug from the inside, which seals the liner as well as the puncture.
  • Rebalance the wheel and refit it to the correct torque.
  • If the tire cannot be repaired safely, explain exactly why and quote you for a replacement before we go further.

When you need it

  • A tire that keeps going soft over a few days
  • A nail or screw you can see in the tread
  • The TPMS light coming on repeatedly for the same wheel
  • A slow leak around the rim after hitting a kerb or pothole
