Wheel Alignment
Alignment is the difference between a set of tires lasting its mileage and being scrapped at half of it. We run a Hunter alignment machine and give you the measurements on paper, before and after, so you can see what was out and what it is now.
What the job involves
- Check tire pressures and inspect the suspension and steering first — there is no point aligning a car with a worn tie rod end, and we will say so before we start.
- Measure camber, caster and toe on all four wheels against the manufacturer's specification.
- Adjust what is adjustable on your vehicle and show you the numbers that moved.
- Hand you the before-and-after printout with the invoice.
When you need it
- The car pulls to one side on a flat road
- The steering wheel is off-centre when you are driving straight
- Feathered or one-sided wear across a tire's tread
- After fitting new tires, or after hitting a serious pothole or kerb
- After any suspension or steering work
