TPMS Service
The tire pressure light means one of two things: a tire is genuinely low, or a sensor has failed. They need different fixes, and we check which one you have before quoting.
What the job involves
- Read the sensors with a TPMS tool to see which wheel is reporting, and what it is reporting.
- Check the actual pressures with a gauge — a light caused by a genuinely soft tire is a puncture question.
- Replace failed sensors, or fit new service kits (valve core, seal and cap) where the sensor itself is fine.
- Run the relearn procedure so the vehicle recognises the sensors and the light stays off.
When you need it
- The TPMS light is on and the tires are at the right pressure
- The light flashes for a minute at startup and then stays on — that usually indicates a system fault, not low pressure
- You have had new tires fitted and the light came on afterwards
- Sensors are typically good for 5 to 10 years before the internal battery gives out
